Urchin Incentive for Chefs

Tasmanian Urchin Incentive for Restaurants, Cafes and Caterers

A new incentive program is offering local restaurants, caterers and cafés a chance to serve highly prized Tasmanian Longspined Sea Urchin (Centro) on their menus.

Eligible businesses can get up to $500 back on local urchin roe and products, made possible by an Abalone Industry Reinvestment Fund project.

Bold, on-trend, and hyper sustainable… increased urchin harvesting makes a positive impact on our threatened rocky reef ecosystems and the fisheries that rely on them.

So hurry! Tell the foodies you know about this rare opportunity. It's peak season for Centro right now, and the program runs until June 30, 2026 (unless funding runs out sooner).
