A new, 35-minute documentary uncovering the impact of range-extending Centro which are devastating Australia's giant kelp forests is due to premiere in Hobart this Wednesday night at the iconic State Cinema.
With stunning visuals and impactful storytelling, the film captures the urgent threat to Great Southern Reef ecosystems and presents tangible solutions we can all take to mitigate the impacts. Taking viewers to the front lines of restoration, White Rock follows commercial divers, First Nations custodians, and chefs who are turning Centro into a culinary delicacy, and promoting sustainable harvesting. Through the journey of reef recovery, the film contrasts desolate barrens with thriving kelp forests—a testament to the power of human intervention in revitalising marine ecosystems.
