North East Catch Cap

The North East Catch Cap CLOSED to commercial fishing from 00:01am Saturday 22 November 2025.    

The North East Catch Cap from Point Sorell (line of longitude 146º 32’ 00” east) to St Helens Point (latitude 41° 16' 30" South), is closed to commercial fishing from 00:01am Saturday 22 November 2025.

The North East Catch Cap has been set at 107 tonnes​​ for the 2025/26 quota year commencing 1 March 2025. 

The North East Catch Cap area encompasses waters east of the line of longitude 146° 32' east off Point Sorell  around to latitude 41° 16' 30" south off  St Helen​s Point, including the Furneaux Group of Islands (see map at bottom of this page). Please note GPS coordinates are in degrees, minutes, seconds, if using a different GPS format the coordinates must be accurately​ converted.
