Give Feedback & Have Your Say

The development of a sardine fishery in Tasmania is still in its early stages. NRE Tas seeks to understand a full range of opinions, values and ideas from Tasmanians. It's important our communities are involved in the development of major Government policies involving natural resource management.

How can the Tasmanian Government best design a Tasmanian Sardine Fishery in a way that maximises social and economic benefit to Tasmanians, ensures ecosystem sustainability, minimises environmental impacts, and follows best practice governance?

We are now seeking feedback from you on our intentions for a sardine fishery, and rationale, that we have outlined in the policy paper. Your feedback will help inform a draft management plan, i.e. the design of the fishery and its rules, which is the next step in the process of developing this new fishery.

You will also be able to have your say on a draft management plan in 2026, through statutory public consultation.

Your feedback on the Policy Paper can be submitted through:

  1. The Online Form Below
  2. Email

  3. Post
