Report Signs of a Marine Heatwave

You can use this form to report signs of a marine heatwave.

If you have observed multiple sick or dying fish in one area, it is considered an animal disease emergency. Do not fill out this form. Instead, call the relevant hotline:

  • Stressed, sick or dying fish (including shellfish, abalone and rock lobster) - Call the Emergency Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888
  • Large numbers of dead fish - Call the EPA Incident Response Hotline on 1800 005 171

If you have observed any sick, dying or dead marine mammals and seabirds, do not fill out this form. Instead, call the Marine Wildlife Hotline on 0427 942 537. Time is critical during a rescue attempt or for testing deceased animals.

For species occurring outside their normal range, please log the sighting via the Redmap website - do not report it here.
