Grassy Jetty, Bold Head, Naracoopa Jetty, Sea Elephant, Lavinia Point, Three Sisters, Phoques Bay, Currie and British Admiral Point.

What will I catch from shore?

  • Australian salmon, mullet, wrasse, gummy shark, sand flathead and snapper. 

Local fishing facts

  • From a boat you can also catch King George whiting, bluespotted flathead, barracouta, school and mako shark, garfish, squid, sea sweep and luderick.
  • Netting is not allowed in most rivers and estuaries. Please check the Recreational Sea Fishing Guide or Tas Fish Guide app for more information.
  • King Island is known for its large rock lobster, abalone fishing and commercial bull kelp industry.
  • Great surf-fishing action is available off King Island's beaches with catches including Australian salmon, gummy shark and mullet.
  • There are many remote fishing areas on King Island.  Report any suspected illegal fishing to Fishwatch on 0427 655 557.
