- Sand flathead, bream, silver trevally, garfish, snapper and King George whiting.
Local fishing facts
- A recreational-only scalefishing area, Georges Bay holds a wide diversity of species including silver trevally, Australian salmon, King George whiting, bream and garfish.
- From a boat, you can also catch calamari and Australian salmon. Offshore species include tiger flathead, striped trumpeter, morwong, tuna, blue-eye trevalla and mako shark.
- The offshore waters of St Helens offer both deepsea and gamefishing action. Fishing charters are available for both inside Georges Bay and offshore.
- Georges Bay is a
Shark Refuge Area. No taking of sharks, skates or rays other than elephantfish.
Netting is also prohibited in the Bay.
